RACE POSTPONED UNTIL FEBRUARY 1ST

Due to the forecasted below zero wind chill and the remote nature of the Biathlon race course, Pagosa Nordic wants to be respectful of everyone's health and wellbeing. Thus, we are postponing the Red Ryder BB Gun Biathlon until February 1st.

**RACE UPDATE - 01/06/25**

Due to lack of snow at the planned race location of Yamaguchi Park, the PNC BB Gun Biathlon Nordic Races have been moved to Alberta Park at the Wolf Creek Ski Area.

Big thank you to Wolf Creek Ski Area for allowing this race to happen!

Time/Location and Competitive race length information below has been updated.

A unique, super-fun freestyle ski event in which participants can either classic or skate ski while target shooting with Red Ryder BB guns provided by the Pagosa Nordic Club. 10 seconds added for each shot missed during the race but no gun or shooting experience is needed. Parents can help the young ones cock and shoot. Kids really love this race!

Prizes for the top finishers and best costumes along with participant drawing giveaways. Great fun for all ages!

COSTUME CONTEST!

While not a requirement, costumes for this race are highly encouraged! Prizes will be given for the best costumes. Start planning your outfit now!

TIME/LOCATION

Map to Tranquility Parking Lot with access to Alberta Park at Wolf Creek Ski Area.

Parking for the cross country skiing is at the end of the Tranquility Lot. Please tell parking attendants where you are headed and they will help direct you. Please note, the cross country area is accessed via a groomed ski run. Racers and spectators can walk/ski down the side of this packed, low usage hill to the race area.

After race awards will be presented in the Tranquility Parking Lot.

Race Times:

12 km Competitive Race starts at 10:00 am

4km Youth / Citizens Race starts at 10:30 am

KidK start time and distance - TBD based on participating kids

Target Shooting:

Target Shooting practice begins at 9:15 am

Racers have 5 shots at targets, 3 times (between each course lap) with provided bb guns. 10 seconds added to your finish time for each missed shot.

REGISTRATION

In-person Registration 8:30 - 9:30 am at the far east end of Tranquility Parking Lot.

The race fee is $5 for Pagosa Nordic Club members and $15 for non-members.
(If you are a Pagosa Nordic Club member, please use the race promo code to receive the PNC Member price for the race. The race code will be emailed via the Grooming Report.)

Please use RaceEntry to register, sign the waiver and pay. We will see you at the race!
(While walk-up registration is permitted, it really helps race organizers if racers register ahead of time using RaceEntry.)
